To dignify those in our community who need a hand up to achieve a better life.
What Drives Us
We aspire to be known as “the charity with no red tape,” meaning that we strive to meet the needs of those that fall through the cracks of traditional nonprofit organizations. Our Thrift Shop allows us to take in donations (keeping waste out of landfills) and sell goods at affordable prices to bridge the wealth gap. We provide vouchers for individuals and organizations to find what they need with dignity. No hoops to jump through. No applications or deadlines. Just genuine, compassionate service and a relentless passion to meet the needs of the members of our community.
How we started.
It all begins with an idea. The Avant Garde’n became overloaded with a large number of thrift store items, and some leaders of The Avant Garde’n decided that these items should be donated and used for good. Therefore, Garde’n Gate Provisions was born to become an avenue between the large resources of The Avant Garde’n and the community. Anna Hogue, an employee of The Avant Garde’n with a background in nonprofit foundations, spearheaded this project that is now Garde’n Gate Provisions.
Our Purpose.
We believe that our resources and “no red tape” policy can easily reach those in need. We use our supplies to bless those in our area who are in desperate need of blessings. We feel strongly that we can offer more assistance than traditional charities because of our streamlined donation process and outreach abilities. All employees of the The Avant Garde’n are extremely passionate about giving back to the wonderful community that they live in and volunteer their time & skills to Garde’n Gate Provisions.
What we do.
We donate to individuals in our community when we hear of specific needs that need to be met. We donate to large groups, like the Homeless Alliance and Route 66 Pet Rescue. We have started a thrift store with anything from clothing to cleaning supplies. We aspire to meet needs in local schools by teaching self esteem, providing necessary supplies, and helping students be the best that they can be. We love to help with local charity events and we hope to do that more in the future.
